Queen Bee By Fashionista Urvashi Anand In Association With Liberent
No one is perfect. As much as we hear this trite nugget, a lot of us do not take it to heart.
I believe Self-assured women not only admit their imperfections, they applaud them. They know where their strengths lie, where they can improve and when to get the heck outta dodge and let others take the lead. Trying to be perfect at everything is inefficient, and confident women didn’t got no time for that. They love themselves for who they are — and for who they’re not. They don’t over commit and they don’t make false promises. They just say no. Why? Because they’d rather state the truth and decline rather than tell a white lie and then flake out later. And, they don’t have time for everything. No one does. The difference is, burnout simply isn’t on a confident woman’s agenda, so she makes sure to commit to things she’ll actually enjoy instead of piling every little thing onto her calendar for the sake of other people.
We keep saying these time and again describing confident women with n number of adjectives but it is very unfortunate that in a country like India a confident girl is crushed by its opposite gender and sometime the society. Recent example that strikes my mind would the one incident happened in Bangalore which is considered to be the safest place in India for women got under the limelight when some drunk hooligans molested girls after the new year party celebration which even got recorded in the CCTV camera as per the latest news update. But the irony is that the people who committed this crime are roaming freely because of lack of evidence or for other undisclosed reason which straight away points at the loop holes of our Judiciary system. Over the past few years, the city has grown at a rapid pace and this has also given rise to a kind of cultural deprivation among the people who are not exposed to a certain kind of lifestyle. During New Year’s Eve, miscreants throng the city plazas to get sadistic pleasure by indulging in molestation and eve teasing.
What got even worse than this is when people who call the mature and sensible because of their Age released stupid and foolish press statement blaming a woman and telling her not to wear revealing clothes and telling them how to drape a dress and what should be their length that can protect them from these incidents happening. I mean “seriously?” These so called mature people are proving by themselves that maturity doesn’t come by age.
Hence today I decided to dedicate my photo shoot saluting those confident women who are facing these challenges every day and are fighting against the norms and society and not willing to give up at all. For which I made sure the look, the walk and the talk should be bucket full of self-confidence , self-respect and high on attitude and to keep all the above said emotions intact I chose to have a costume from @liberent.com which is a beautiful red skirt and yes this one is again a collaboration with them…

At the end all I can say is a woman should feel free to wear what they like and to express themselves through what they wear. Some people don’t know how to express their feelings and some do it through fashion. It isn’t fair how, like Goths for instance, have to be judged, it’s their choice. We should be okay with that, because the character is not directly proportional to the length of the cloth she prefers to wear. So leave the judgement on someone’s clothes and see her confidence & smile to get inspired and mesmerised.
